Summit High School soccer players enjoy recovery
We caught up with two of the three Summit High School Women’s Soccer co-captains fresh off their 3-2 overtime win. Kelsey Space, who scored first, and Keegan Mayer, the winning goal scorer, enjoyed some well-deserved recovery at Revivify.
The girls won a tight game, whose score belied their dominance over Union Catholic. Not one minute into the first overtime, Mayer put away a neat cross from Natasha Kim. They avenged two straight Union County defeats at the hands of Union Catholic including last years tilt decided by penalty kicks.
Space opened the scoring for the Hilltoppers and Sky Gilbert added the second tally. Space displayed her usual penchant for keeping the ball glued to her feet and a strong defensive effort was led by seniors Claire Murdock and Anna Griffith with Renee Hayford and Arden Dooley manning the defensive wings.
